IRON NEST Turret Traverse and Elevation Guide

Translate map bearing and calculator elevation into the physical turret settings required before firing.

A firing solution is useful only after it has been applied to the turret. Traverse controls horizontal direction; elevation controls the barrel's vertical angle.

Traverse to the required bearing

Use the bearing produced by your map work, and traverse the turret until its indicated bearing matches the solution. Do not treat a map coordinate as an angle.

Set elevation from the calculator

Elevation depends on range, ammunition and propellant charge. If any of those inputs change, calculate again and update the physical gun setting.

Confirm before firing

Check bearing, elevation, shell and powder charges as one chain. A correct map measurement combined with an outdated elevation setting can still result in a miss.
